Bhishma Parva

Bhishma Parva is the 6th of the 18 Maha Parvas of VyasaMahabharata. According to the Critical Edition, this Parva has a total of 5,884 Shlokas, organized into 117 Chapters and 4 Upa Parvas. This Parva describes the first 10 days of the 18-day Kurukshetra war, during which Bhishma fought as the commander in chief of the Kaurava army. On the 10th day of the war, he was fatally injured and could no longer fight the war.
This Parva includes the widely studied Bhagavad Gita. It also includes the description of the structure of the universe, as seen by Sanjaya, including a more detailed description of Bhumi - the part of the universe that is visible to humans. The Parva describes - day by day description of the first 10 days of the Kurukshetra war, culminating in the fall of Bhishma.

Jambukhanda-Vinirmana Parva

This is the 61st of the 100 Upa Parvas situated in the sixth (Bhishma Parva) of the 18 Maha Parvas in the Vyasa Mahabharata. As the name suggests, this Upa Parva mainly describes the structure of Jambukhanda, a part of the Earth.
